Factoring

To use the box thingy to factor....

2x^2 + 7x +3

Put the 7 in the top left box. Multiply the 2 and 3 to get 6 and put 6 in the top right box.
Find numbers you multiply to get 6 that add up to 7 (6 and 1) and put them in the lower boxes. It doesn't matter which one goes where. Then rewrite the equation replacing the 7x with 6x and 1x....
2x^2 + 6x + x +3
Group and then factor
2x(x + 3) +1(x + 3)
(x + 3)(2x + 1)

Does that help?

Hey Mrs. Bowers!

This has nothing to do with factoring but I decided to post a comment here anyways.

I was wondering if you happened to know what I made on the EOC and if you could send it to me somehow. My Gaggle is Amber528995@ycs.gaggle.net.
If you don't know, that's okay. I can find out Monday. But it would be really cool if I could find out today!

Thanks.
