GAH, word problems. Later on in the year, are you still going to make us copy all of that down?

I'm also curious as to when we won't have to justify and check our answers. Maybe after you're sure we understand...?

If you log on this late, could you help me out with number 19 on page 78, Algebra 1 textbook? I thought I had the equation, but it gave me a weird number and I don't understand it.

This may be too late, but you want to choose a variable for the amount the child grew. He started at 38-something and increased by a certain amount (your variable) to the total of 40-something. Your equation will almost always equal the total amount. So, starting height + amount grown = ending height. I hope that helps!
